Author: Richard McClellan

Richard McClellan was born in Yellville, Arkansas (USA). He served in the U.S. Army, and has traveled the world including Japan, Korea, Portugal, Italy, Canada, and most of the lower 48 United States and Alaska. His favorite place that he has visited is the Azores Islands in the middle of the Atlantic ocean.

As the cloak of dusk arrives,
And darkness falls on the camp,
Beautifully the fire lights trickle,
Lighting up this wonderful night sky.

Flying around the sky,
Is a harboring swarm of fireflies,
Flying all around,
Flickering ever so brightly,

As a young child,
There is a fascination,
In watching their lanterns light,
And Chasing Fireflies across the yard.

Filling a glass jar,
With the spectacles of light,
Walking slowly, beacons slowly appear,
Chasing Fireflies on a hot summer night.
